I'm not quite sure what a "legacy fan" is but there's nothing in racing more dull than watching a field of cars cruise around behind the pace car under yellow. And that's exactly what the "old" Bristol had. Lots of wrecking and not much racing. Many years there they had more than 100 of the 500 laps run under yellow. Now THAT's "Brisdull"!

Yes, Kyle Busch stunk up the show through most of the race, but behind him there was plenty of side-by-side, hard nosed racing for positon all through the pack. Two and three wide battles for every position, guys driving their butts off trying to gain just one or two spots in the points.

That's what racing is about. Not wrecking and yellow flags.

Thousands of legacy fans disagree, it's not the same, it's now Brisdull. the people who make a living off of NASCAR are the ones saying it's the same, but they don't see the fans nodding of during the races and hear them complain that the racing there is now like every other track.
Too bad, at one time it was unique. Now you can get better racing at Richmond (same style but faster) or Martinsville (the only true short track left).
If it weren't for the debris cautions, KBusch would have won and he would have lapped the field.
Sad.
